At what age were your son(s) when you had THE TALK with them?

My eldest is 12 and he asked me to sort out some settings on his phone. I checked his browsing history which was a shock (nothing nasty - just that it's my little boy) and then went to see what he had been viewing on YouTube and it was similar.

After this thought it best to have the talk. He was mortified at first but seemed to relax after a while once I said all boys do this to some degree including me back in the day.

I think I was about 5 or 6 when my Mum and Dad told us... went and told all my mates the next day at school... they all called me a liar... within a week they had all apologised... think my missus told our daughter when she was about the same age... been a few questions since that's for sure...

I talked with my eldest about it when he was 10. My second child is now 10 and he doesn't have the same amount of questions so I just haven't discussed it with him yet. It may be the older brother is answering all those questions so I don't have to.

My little girl is going to stay 6 forever so I don't have to worry about that stuff with her. Or that's what I tell myself.

Gents. I dont have sons but I remember clearly knowing most if the facts of life ar about 6 years old even though I'd had stiffies well before. My mum gave me a book very embarrased at the age of 12 and asked me if I knew about it. Knew about it? I'd beeing looking at porn for about 5 years. It may not have been love but it certainly gave me a good idea of the mechanics.

I remember my Dad talking to me about it and I quoted a line which I heard on a TV show so when he said "I want to talk to you about the birds and the bees" I said, "Great, what do you want to know?"

He turned on his heels and saying "Work it out for yourself you cheeky fucker"...He was a year to late any way.

As for our kids, we have always said that if they are old enough to ask a question, they are old enough to get a straight answer so its been more of a drip feeding exercise over a period of time rather than a 'sit down' talk....

They teach them in primary school these days. The rest they'll figure out over time by talking to peers though it's clearly important to be there for them if they're vulnerable or uncertain about something.

Be careful, told my boys everyone does this when about 12/13 approx. One was a bit shy, never had a girl, and never stopped spanking the monkey since!

One day he explains that he can't stop wanking and he thinks he is addicted to porn! He still wasn't having much luck with girls and about 20 now! I won't lie it crossed my mind, he could be batting for the other side?

I know 40 year olds who are confused and vulnerable about sex. I also have know young people who are not. My first proper girl friend knew stuff she really shouldnt have. I wast complaining though.
